Safeguarding

Safeguarding is one of our highest priorities at Wakefield Elim Community Church. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard children and adults who are vulnerable. To achieve this, we have a rigorous safeguarding policy in place, which is further supplemented by additional guidelines for groups such as Youth. A copy of the policy can be seen on request from our Safeguarding Coordinator, or Pastor Sue. All leaders and volunteers are DBS checked and safeguarding is further supported by Elim’s National Leadership Team and the church safeguarding charity Thirtyone;Eight. All leaders attend training regularly so that they can actively promote safer practices and listen and record effectively to any concerns. If you have any concerns, please report these immediately to one of our Safeguarding Coordinators. In an emergency, please also contact the emergency services using 999.
